Knit One Below

Happy New Year! :D

I know I've been absent a lot around the internet for a little while now, and I apologize. BUT, I have been...Wait for it....Knitting! ;) I have lots of knitting projects to share with everyone, as well as some sewing. But that's for another post.

This post is to let you know about the Knit One Below class we're hosting here at Kitschy Stitch. "Knit One Below" is a technique in knitting which causes *vertical* stripes rather than horizontal. There are many uses for "Knit One Below", but Mary will be teaching the basic stitch, and you can create a beautiful scarf. Mary made a gorgeous muted scarf which shows of the subtle shifts in her yarn. I, rather predictably, had to pick some very contrasting yarns for mine. You can tell though, that you can get very different looks depending on the yarn you select.

This year my knitting theme is trying new things, so I'll be posting progress shots of things like a steeked sweater, and other such "scary" things. We plan on having a VERY full class schedule to keep everyone in the learning mood too. So, this Knit One Below class is just the first in a long line of fun Skill Builders we have waiting for you.

Knit One Below will be taught by Mary, on Saturday, January 7th from 1 to 3. Please call, email or pop in to pre-register. Class fee is just $20, and this one should be lots of fun!

Happy New Year To All!

Allison
