Cascade 220 is one of my all-time favorite yarns, and for good reason; gives you good yardage at a great price, felts like a dream, showcases any stitch pattern well, wears well, and has an incredible range of colors - I currently have 40 gorgeous hues in stock.
Cascade 220 is the recommended yarn for a large number of patterns, and now there's a whole book dedicated to what you can make with one or two skeins. The book is called "60 Quick Knits" and there's a great array of projects including a cupcake hat, a drop-stitch scarf, flip top mittens, and a cabled tam.
